What a NERD!

It was NERD day at Snows last Friday. Every so often the Student Council organizes a fun dress up fay for the students. Anns was so excited, she loves a to dress up, but more importantly she didn't have to wear her uniform. She was overjoyed to be able to wear her jeans to school! By the way thanks Uncle Kyle for the hair-do suggestion, it was a huge hit.

"My Dad said I Could Ski"

Sometimes when you are the third sister it seems like all you do is ride in the car to your others sisters activities...it seems like this because it is a reality. Anns and Emm are both in the ski program at Mt. Rose, Emm goes on Wednesdays and Anns on Fridays. The very first Wednesday I took Emm up the mountain Tills told me she wanted to ski. Tilley-Claire is a very persistent child, she doesn't just tell you once, she tells you over and over and over. I told her we didn't have any ski stuff for her, but maybe next time. This didn't stop the the asking she just rephrased her statement...."MY DAD SAID I COULD SKI!"
Therefore, these pictures were taken the very next Wednesday...Tills hit the slopes like a big girl! Never complaining once about gear, the cold, or being left with a stranger, the only thing she had to say was "My Dad said I could ski next time too." That's my girl!

Eye Flops!

Sometimes a $3.00 stocking stuffer is the best present of all! My girls got for these "eye flops" as Tilley calls them for Christmas and they have seen some serious playtime. Especially from Tilley-Claire--the girl enjoys an accessory. Here we are bowling at the Coconut Bowl and I wasn't going to take my camera, but when Tills insisted on wearing her "eye flop" I knew it would make for a great photo op. Sure enough the girl got all situated, walked up to bowl, pulled down her "eye flop" and rolled her ball down the lane. There is never a dull moment when Tilley is involved and we love it that way!

Our Lady of the Snows

Well...I am really not sure where to begin with this whole story. At the beginning of December Annsley-Rae ask me if she had to finish out the year at Huffaker. I sort of laughed out loud at her and kept on with what I was doing, not really giving it a second thought. As the days went by she continued to ask if she had to finish out the year and if we could go to Snows and look around. Now mind you the idea of Snows has been kicked around our house, but not real seriously. We knew that we would have to start talking about it as we approached the middle school years, but not now. Right? As the questions persisted Trini and I both decided we needed to listen to our 9 year old. Annsley-Rae is so content in whatever she is doing, she never complains, we knew we had to act. So we called our dear friend Katie and she met us at Snows the first day of Christmas break--Snows was still in session. We met with Mr. Fuetsch, the Principal and we looked around. Mr. Fusch informed us that if we wanted to "get in" it would be in our best interest to enroll mid-year rather that wait until the beginning if 5th grade. In my head I am thinking that Anns won't really want to move now. We get in the car and she says
"Mom , will you please fill out this packet and turn it in tomorrow."
I am floored!
I say," honey did you hear what he said, you have to leave Huffaker now!
"I know mom, please fill it out!"
I inform her we must talk to Dad and think this over. Our family is engrained at Huffaker, we love the people there, the staff, I spend tons of time helping out there...I had to process this whole thing! To make a long story short we talked, prayed, went over every situation, prayed, and waited. During this time Anns told Trini her heart told her to go to Snows and she was ready for the change. We got the call from Mr. Fuetsch the Monday before school started---We Were In!
Our first day of school would be January 4, 2010. We would embark on new start time (8:15), new clothes (a uniform), new friends, new curriculum, a new adventure!

Happy New Year!

We rang in TWENTY TEN at our house with the whole gang! Uncle Kyle, Aunt Jenn, Ellery-Joy, Hartley -Love, Maugee and Poppa! We had delicious food, visited, watched footaball, and played and played and played. These celebration pictures were actually taken the next day because most of you pooped out before the ball dropped on New Year's Eve! Trini, Maugee and myself were the only ones to make it to the countdown! Although it was low key we had a fabulous time together. We are excited to WELCOME the year 2010!

To Blog or NOT to Blog??

To blog or NOT to blog has been the question for over a year. My precious friend Mel has been trying to get me to enter the blog world for sometime now, but it just wasn't for me. Although I find myself spending countless hours in the middle of the night reading other blogs, loving all the stories and pictures of loved ones' children. I myself did not want to take on this task for many reasons.

However, as time marches on and my memory fails me on a daily basis I have decided to embrace my Mormon tendencies and BLOG!!! So I am kicking off this NEW YEAR with our very own blog and I welcome this journey. Thanks Mel for encouraging me to record our story.... may this be the first of many posts!

Happy 2010!
